Vanderlaan Law Group is the Florida offices of Best, Vanderlaan & Harrington, a Chicago based law firm that services clients in Illinois, Florida, Indiana, and southern Wisconsin and oversees cases nationally for some of its clients. Lori is one of the founding partners of Best, Vanderlaan & Harrington and has expanded BVH's reach to now service its current and prospective clients in Florida through the offices of Vanderlaan Law Group. Lori  handles cases for the firm’s clients throughout the States of Florida and Illinois. Lori is an experienced trial attorney who focuses her practice on employment discrimination, complex tort litigation, commercial law, public entity/public officials’ liability, fair housing, and insurance coverage litigation. 

Lori has tried cases in state and federal courts involving a variety of matters including multi-party tort litigation, employment discrimination, personal injury, construction injury and construction defect, defamation, and commercial transactions. In addition, Lori handles state and federal appellate work, serves as coverage counsel for some of the firm’s clients, and provides consulting and training services in the field of employment law.

Lori has received the distinction of being chosen year after year by her peers as a  Leading Lawyer and Superlawyer.  She has spoken at legal conferences, symposiums and seminars on various areas of the law, including effective litigation management, defending high exposure claims, insurance coverage, risk transfer and uninsured/underinsured motorists claims. 

Lori obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and her law degree from The John Marshall Law School where she graduated magna cum laude.  While in law school she was a member and staff editor for the John Marshall Law Review and was a member of the Labor Law Moot Court team.

Lori is admitted to practice in the states of Florida and Illinois, the United States Supreme Court and the various federal district and appellate courts in Florida, Illinois and Indiana. She is also a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court, Florida State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
